Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 7 September 2026. These terms cover the Site Vision AR website, the customer portal, and the Site Vision AR application for Meta Quest headsets.
Please read them before you use the service. By applying for an account, logging in, or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data and forms part of these terms.
1. Who we are and how to reach us
The service is provided by Mattacode Studio Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 14769367, registered office 25 Lauderdale Avenue, Northampton NN4 8RJ (“we”, “us”, “our”). We trade as Site Vision AR.
You can contact us at any time at hello@sitevisionar.com. If we need to contact you, we will use the email address on your account.
2. Some words we use
- (a)Portal — the customer area of this website, where you manage your account and upload your models.
- (b)App — the Site Vision AR application for Meta Quest headsets.
- (c)Model — the 3D files you upload (OBJ, MTL and texture images) and anything we produce for you from your drawings.
- (d)Project — one slot in your account holding one model. How many you get is set out in your Order.
- (e)Download — one load of a model onto a headset. Each load counts as one, including reloading a model you have loaded before.
- (f)Order — what you and we agreed in writing for your account: the price, how many projects, how many downloads, and for how long. This can be a signed agreement, a quote you accepted, or an email exchange confirming the arrangement.
3. Your account
- (a)Accounts are not automatic. You apply, and we approve accounts manually. We may decline an application without giving a reason.
- (b)You must give accurate details when you apply, and keep them up to date.
- (c)Your login is personal to your business. Keep your password to yourself and do not share your login with anyone outside your organisation. The same login works on the website and in the headset app.
- (d)You are responsible for everything done through your account. If you think someone else has your password, tell us straight away and change it in the portal.
- (e)You must be at least 18 to hold an account. Meta sets its own minimum age for using a headset, and you must follow it.
4. What the service does
You upload a model to a project in the portal. You then log in to the app on a Meta Quest headset with the same details, choose that project, and the model downloads to the headset, where you can walk around it at 1:1 scale, reposition it and change its colours.
We may also, where separately agreed, produce a model for you from your architect's drawings or plans. Work of that kind is covered by your Order as well as by these terms.
We improve the service over time, so features may be added, changed or removed. We will not make a change that materially reduces what you are paying for without telling you first.
5. Price, projects and downloads
We price each customer individually — there is no fixed public price list. What you pay, how many projects your account holds, and how many downloads you get are whatever we agreed with you in your Order. Your portal always shows the allowance currently on your account.
- (a)Subscription accounts pay a recurring fee, in advance, for an agreed number of projects. Downloads are not separately charged while the subscription is live.
- (b)Credit accounts buy downloads in advance. Each model load spends one credit. When credits run out, models stop loading until you buy more. Credits do not expire while your account is open, and have no cash value.
- (c)Adding projects to a subscription changes what you pay from the next billing period. Tell us and we will set it up.
- (d)Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before changing a recurring price. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.
- (e)Unless your Order says otherwise, prices are in pounds sterling and exclude VAT, which we add where it applies.
6. Paying us
- (a)Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or hold your card number.
- (b)Subscriptions renew automatically each period until cancelled. Credit purchases are one-off payments.
- (c)If a payment fails, we will try again and let you know. If it stays unpaid we may suspend your account until it is settled.
- (d)Where we have invoiced you outside the portal, payment is due within the period stated on the invoice. We may charge interest on late business payments under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
7. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel a subscription at any time from the billing section of your portal, or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — your models stay available until then. We do not give part refunds for an unused part of a period unless we are at fault.
Download credits. Credits are bought in advance, and larger bundles are priced lower per download. Once bought, credits are not refundable, cannot be transferred to another account, and have no cash value — but they do not expire for as long as your account is open, so nothing you have paid for goes to waste. If our service fails through our fault and you cannot use credits you have paid for, we will either refund them or add replacements to your account, whichever you prefer.
If you are buying as an individual rather than for a business, you normally have 14 days from purchase to change your mind and get a refund. Because the service starts as soon as your account is live, by using it within that period you are asking us to begin straight away, and you accept that you lose the right to cancel once we have fully performed. If you cancel part way through, we may keep a proportionate amount for what you have already used. None of this affects your legal rights if something we supply is faulty or not as described.
That right covers credits too, so the paragraph above about credits being non-refundable does not apply to you. If you cancel a credit purchase within 14 days, we refund what you paid less the credits you have already spent. Because bundles are discounted, the credits you used are charged at the rate that would have applied had you bought only that number, rather than at the bundle rate — the discount is for keeping the bundle.
8. Your models stay yours
- (a)You keep all ownership and intellectual property rights in the models, drawings, textures and other files you upload. We do not claim any ownership of them.
- (b)You give us permission to store your files, convert and process them, and deliver them to headsets logged in to your account — purely so we can run the service for you. We do not use your models for anything else, and we do not show them to anyone else or use them in our marketing without asking you first.
- (c)You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload — that it is yours, or that whoever owns it (your architect, designer or client) has agreed to it being used this way.
- (d)If we produce a model for you from your drawings, you own the model we deliver once you have paid for it in full. We keep ownership of any tools, templates or techniques we used to make it.
- (e)Everything else — this website, the app, our software and the Site Vision AR name and branding — stays ours.
9. What you must not do
You must not:
- (a)upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the rights to;
- (b)upload files containing malware, or deliberately try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service;
- (c)share your login outside your organisation, or resell access to the service without our written agreement;
- (d)copy, decompile or reverse engineer our software, except where the law says you may;
- (e)use the service in a way that puts anyone's safety at risk (see clause 10).
10. Safety when using the headset
Site Vision AR does not draw a boundary or guardian line, and that is deliberate — a barrier would stop you short of the walls and you would never feel the true 1:1 scale of the building. You are free to walk anywhere your room allows, and the model itself is not solid, so nothing stops you walking through it.
Making sure the space is safe is your responsibility, not ours. Before you use the app, clear the area of furniture, cables, tools and anything else you could trip on or walk into, know where your real walls, stairs, windows and drops are, and make sure nobody else is in the way. Keep someone watching if a person is using a headset on a building site or anywhere with real hazards.
You must also follow Meta's own health and safety guidance for your headset. Do not use the app if you are affected by motion sickness, dizziness or seizures triggered by moving images, and stop if you start to feel unwell.
You are responsible for anyone you let use the app through your account — your staff, your clients and anyone you demonstrate it to. Please pass this guidance on to them.
11. What the models are, and are not
Site Vision AR shows you a visual impression of a building. It is a design and communication tool. It is not a survey, a structural calculation, a planning document or professional advice, and it does not replace your architect, engineer, surveyor or building control.
What you see depends entirely on the model that was supplied. Dimensions, levels, materials and colours as they appear in the headset are indicative — colours in particular will look different on a headset than they will in daylight on a real material. Do not use what you see in the app to take measurements, order materials, price work, or make a construction or planning decision. Check against the actual drawings and specifications first.
12. Availability
We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. It may be unavailable for maintenance, or because of a problem with something we depend on — hosting, storage, payment processing, or the headset platform itself. Where we can, we will give you notice of planned downtime.
You need your own compatible Meta Quest headset and a working internet connection. We are not responsible for those.
13. Suspending or closing an account
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if payment stays overdue, or if we have to in order to comply with the law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.
You can close your account at any time by emailing us. When an account closes, we delete the files in it — so please keep your own copies of anything you need. We may keep records of the account itself (and of payments) for as long as the law requires.
14. Our responsibility to you
We do not exclude or limit our liability where the law does not allow us to. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and — for consumers — under your statutory rights.
Subject to that:
- (a)We are not liable for loss you suffer because you relied on what a model looked like in the headset, rather than on the underlying drawings and professional advice (see clause 11).
- (b)We are not liable for injury or damage caused by using a headset in a space that was not clear and safe (see clause 10).
- (c)We are not liable for the loss of files you did not keep your own copy of. Please keep your originals.
- (d)If you are a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of contracts or any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period.
- (e)If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill, but not for anything unforeseeable, or for loss arising from using the service for a business purpose.
15. Other things you should know
- (a)Changes to these terms. We may update them. If a change materially affects you, we will email you before it takes effect. The version on this page at the time you use the service is the one that applies.
- (b)If your Order says something different. Where your Order and these terms conflict, your Order wins for that point.
- (c)Transferring the agreement. You may not transfer your account to someone else without our agreement. We may transfer our rights if our business is sold, and will tell you if that happens.
- (d)Events outside our control. We are not responsible for failing to do something we promised if it is caused by something genuinely outside our control, but we will let you know and do what we reasonably can.
- (e)If part of these terms doesn't hold up. The rest still applies.
- (f)Nobody else can enforce these terms — they are between you and us.
16. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
If something goes wrong, please email us first — most things are sorted out quickly that way.
